Wakiso District marks the International Day for People with Disabilities

The International Day for the People with Disabilities has been marked in Wakiso District with handing over a Toyota Noah vehicle donated by African Dream Organisation to Salama School of the Blind in Njeru Buikwe district where over ten students lost their lives to the fires that gutted their dormitory last year.
The PWDs District wide, also received mattresses donated by Mercy.
The Woman Member of Parliament for Wakiso District Betty Ethel Naluyima urged the parents of the children with disabilities to stop hiding them but always seek support from medical experts for proper treatment.
The District Chairperson Dr. Matia Lwanga Bwanika called upon people with disabilities to stop lamenting because of their status but to utilize all available opportunities in place to improve and sustain their lives.
