Government plans to close about 50 unapproved Child care homes in Wakiso District.

The Government through the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development plans to close about 50 unapproved homes in Wakiso District. The Ministry is concerned about the increasing illegal homes in the District which puts lives of the children at risk. Wakiso District, The Parliamentary Committee on infrastructure together with UNRA officials Inspect ongoing works along the Busega-Mpigi Express Highway!!

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Honorable Thomas Tayebwa leads a delegation of the Parliamentary committee on infrastructure, and together with officials from UNRA and Wakiso District, inspected the Busega-Mpigi Express way to assess the progress of implementation. UNRA has held a stakeholder meeting for road safety audit for Busega -Mpigi Express Highway at Wakiso District

The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has held a District stakeholder consultative meeting for undertaking road safety audit and awareness campaign for Busega -Mpigi Express Highway. The highway which covers 23.7 kilometers, traversing through Wakiso District and expected to be completed by 31st July 2024, is at a completion rate of 30% currently.
