*UPDF gives back to Wakiso communities *

As part of the activities to commemorate Theresita Day the UPDF 1st Divison today held a health camp at Bira Health centre 111 and also cleaned Bulaga and Bulenga markets in Wakiso Subcounty
The exercise was led by Col. Emmanuel Muhoozi, the 1st Division Administrative Commander who called upon Ugandans to trust UPDF with their safety and security as it is the force built on a civilian foundation.
He said that UPDF as a professional army will continue to carry out community based services including medical, works and engineering services among others.
The UPDF 1st Division spokesperson Major Charles Kabona appealed to wanainchi to strengthen the cooperation with the army because their sons and daughters in uniform are working for the wellbeing of Ugandans.
Wakiso Sub county Chairperson Felix Mwanje Semujju and the Sub county Administrative Officer Racheal Musaasizi were commended for mobilizing the residents to participate in the exercise.
UPDF was doing this community service in preparation for celebrations of Tarehe Sita day on 6th Feb 2024, Tarehe Sita is a day when president Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in 1981 attacked Kabamba Barracks and declared a protracted people’s struggle that lasted for five years.
During this day UPDF conducts Civil Military activities to thank the Ugandans for their support.
