Horticulture

The current fruit and vegetable production in Wakiso district is largely in the hands of smallholders and is for local consumption and to some extent export market. Available statistics show that the district has 136,311 households involved in production of fruits, vegetables and other crops (2014 UNHHS data), however information from Uganda Export Promotion Board (UEPB) reveals only 67 firms are registered to export horticultural products.
