Stakeholders Engage Contractor Over Kayunga–Senge–Kawanda Road Project

Stakeholders have engaged the contractor undertaking the 6.5km Kayunga–Senge–Kawanda Road project to address contract compliance concerns and accelerate progress on the delayed works.

The engagement follows the lifting of a two-week extension to a one-month suspension of works, which was imposed over failure to adequately manage traffic and public safety, particularly along the swamp section and other active work fronts.

The contractor, Bouch U Ltd in a joint venture with Nyoro Construction Co. Ltd, was also required to address outstanding campsite, laboratory, welfare and other supporting facilities, as well as strengthen the deployment of plant, personnel and other resources necessary to improve production.

The monitoring engagement brought together Wakiso District LCV Chairman Eng. Ian Kyeyune, Assistant RDC Jotham Kikulwe, the DISO, Nansana Municipal officials, Wakiso District technical staff and project consultants.

The stakeholders reviewed the outstanding issues and agreed on measures to support compliance with the contract requirements and ensure steady progress towards completion of the project
