District Councillors’ Depart for Hoima Induction Programme

District Councillors’ have today set off for Hoima City to attend an induction programme aimed at strengthening their capacity to effectively execute their roles and responsibilities as local government leaders.

The councilors departed from THDistrict Headquarters earlier today for the induction, which will provide an opportunity to enhance their understanding of local government systems and procedures, planning and budgeting, legislation, oversight, governance and effective representation of their respective electorates.

The programme is part of efforts to equip the councilors with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively participate in decision-making and contribute to improved service delivery across the district.

Prior to their departure, LCV Chairman Eng. Ian Kyeyune urged the councilors to take the induction programme seriously and make the most of the training to enhance their capacity to serve the people of Wakiso.

The councilors will spend several days in Hoima City undergoing intensive training and orientation on local government operations, governance and their responsibilities as elected representatives.

The induction is expected to strengthen the councilors’ understanding of their mandate and enhance their effectiveness in legislative, oversight and representation functions.
