Stakeholders have called for stronger coordination between the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) and local government authorities to ensure that water infrastructure installations are aligned with approved road designs and ongoing development projects.

The call was made during a stakeholders’ meeting at the District Headquarters, bringing together representatives from Wakiso District, Nansana Municipality and the Ministry of Kampala to harmonise water infrastructure plans with road projects being implemented under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Programme (GKMA-UDP).

The engagement followed a site inspection along the Muyomba–Kawoko–Bujjuko Road, where water pipes were found being installed within the existing road carriageway, despite the road being prioritised for widening and upgrading to bitumen standard under the programme.
