St. Jude Catholic Parish Launches Fundraising Marathon to Roof New Church.
Christians of St. Jude Catholic Parish have launched a fundraising marathon to mobilize resources towards roofing their new church building and providing a decent place of worship for the growing congregation.
The parish is seeking to raise Shs 600 million required to complete the roofing phase of the new church, with the construction committee expressing optimism that the building will be roofed before the end of the year.
Flagging off the fundraising marathon, Wakiso District Chairperson Eng. Ian Kyeyune reaffirmed the district’s commitment to working closely with the Catholic Church and other faith-based institutions in advancing community development.
Kyeyune described faith-based institutions as important partners in transforming communities and pledged 30 iron sheets towards the church construction project.
He also used the occasion to appeal to parents and guardians to take advantage of the remaining days of the ongoing National Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign to have their eligible children immunized.
Kyeyune emphasized that protecting children from preventable diseases is a shared responsibility, urging parents to play their part in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of their children.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ronnie Mubiru, called upon Christians, well-wishers and friends of the parish to generously support the fundraising drive so that the construction of the church can be completed.
Fr. Mubiru further encouraged Christians to embrace hard work and actively participate in efforts to improve their livelihoods, noting that economic empowerment enables individuals and families to contribute meaningfully to the development of the Church and the wider community.
The parish construction committee remains confident that through collective effort, generosity and commitment from Christians and well-wishers, the church will be successfully roofed before the end of the year.
