Bukasa–Sentema–Kakiri Road Project Surpasses Targets, Tarmacking Set to Begin.
The Bukasa–Sentema–Kakiri Road project has reached 44.6% completion, surpassing the planned 36%, with tarmacking set to begin next month. This milestone signals steady progress in delivering a critical infrastructure upgrade for communities along the corridor.
So far, 5 kilometers have been prepared for asphalt surfacing, with several sections completed to formation level as the project transitions into pavement works. District officials and engineers have commended the contractor for efficient delivery, noting that World Bank support is yielding visible results.
Leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to community engagement and environmental protection, working closely with relevant authorities to address concerns related to access, drainage, and wetland preservation.
Once completed, the road is expected to significantly enhance connectivity, stimulate business growth, and improve livelihoods in the area.
