The District level coordination meeting for polio house to house campaign round 2.

The campaign which targets children under the age of 5 years will take place from the 27to 29th January 2023. The Ministry of Health, World Health Organization, and UNICEF are supporting the campaign. The District Chairperson requested health workers to work closely with Village Health Teams so that the masses are mobilized. The campaign will take place in the community. Health workers will visit all houses, markets, churches, shops and playgrounds among others.

Wakiso District marks the International Day for People with Disabilities

The International Day for the People with Disabilities has been marked in Wakiso District with handing over a Toyota Noah vehicle donated by African Dream Organisation to Salama School of the Blind in Njeru Buikwe district where over ten students lost their lives to the fires that gutted their dormitory last year. The District Executive committee led by the District Chairperson today monitored the progress of Kasoozo Health Centre III in Kakiri Subcounty. The facility was upgraded from HCII to HCIII under UGiFt project funded by the World Bank. The Contractor Muga services was urged to quickly complete the remaining works so that the facility can be handed over by 31st February 2023

A five day Youth Annual Conference Camp organized by Namirembe Diocese is on going at St. Johns Secondary School in Wakiso Town Council. The camp was officially opened by Wakiso District Woman Member of Parliament Betty Ethel Naluyima. She advised the youths to focus on their life goals and avoid being diverted by luxurious tendencies that can ruin their future.
