Makerere University School of Public Health finalizes a research about the prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome among female s of reproductive age in Wakiso District

A study carried out by the school of Public Health Makerere University about the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and associated risk factors among females of reproductive age between 15- 49 years in Wakiso revealed that 5.3 percent of women were overweight While 11.9 percent of women were obese in the District are at risk of acquiring metabolic syndrome and associated risk factors. Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union(UNMU) gifts Expectant Mothers at Wakiso HCIV

Wakiso HCIV has receives a consignment of midwife kits worth 10m from Uganda Nurses and midwives union. The kits which are used by expectant mothers were lobbied by the Woman Member of Parliament Betty Ethyl Naluyima. The President Uganda Nurses and Midwives union Justus Cherop handed over the kits to the District Leadership led by the District Chairperson at Wakiso HCIV.
