Residents Urged to Actively Participate in PDM SACCO Elections.
Residents of Nkumba in Katabi Town Council turned up in large numbers for a Parish Development Model (PDM) community Baraza addressed by Enterprise Specialist Irene Muwanguzi.
The engagement provided an opportunity for community members to learn more about the programme, seek clarification on its implementation, and explore the wealth creation opportunities available under PDM. Participants also raised concerns and received guidance on various aspects of the programme aimed at improving household incomes.
Speaking at the Baraza, Ms. Muwanguzi encouraged residents to actively participate in the ongoing PDM SACCO elections and elect competent, trustworthy leaders who will provide effective stewardship of their SACCOs and ensure the success of the programme at the parish level.
She further reminded beneficiaries whose two-year grace period has expired to begin repaying the funds received under PDM, emphasizing that the support is a revolving loan designed to enable more households to access financial assistance and improve their livelihoods.
The community engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen awareness, accountability, and citizen participation in the implementation of the Parish Development Model across the district.
