The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has held a District stakeholder consultative meeting for undertaking road safety audit and awareness campaign for Busega -Mpigi Express Highway. The highway which covers 23.7 kilometers, traversing through Wakiso District and expected to be completed by 31st July 2024, is at a completion rate of 30% currently. Wakiso District council re-elects Committee Chairpersons

Four out of the five sectoral committee chairpersons have been re-elected to head the District council standing committees. Vincent Mulindwa was elected for chairperson Works committee and Kakungulu Shakirah for the finance and planning committee committee both unopposed, while Faisal Nyanzi for Production, Natural Resources, Trade and Cooperatives committee with 57 votes against Namutebi Hadijah who got 26 votes.
