The conference which highlights the budget strategy for Financial year 2024/2025 was held on the 15th of November 2023 at Wakissha Resource Centre in Wakiso Town council.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Honorable Thomas Tayebwa leads a delegation of the Parliamentary committee on infrastructure, and together with officials from UNRA and Wakiso District,  inspected the Busega-Mpigi Express way to assess the progress of implementation.
The Wakiso District Chairperson  decried the slow rate of compensation for Land Lords who gave away their land.

A delegation from CBS radio paid a courtesy call to the District, and together we held discussions on how to strengthen our relationship for future partnerships so that Wakiso residents get information, education and empowerment about our timely service delivery.

The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has held a District stakeholder consultative meeting for undertaking road safety audit and awareness campaign for Busega -Mpigi Express Highway.
The highway which covers 23.7 kilometers, traversing through Wakiso District and expected to be completed by 31st July 2024, is at a completion rate of 30% currently. UNRA contracted SMEC International Limited to undertake the consultancy services to help in the management of road safety awareness campaign al0ng the affected areas.
It’s anticipated that after the road is completed, there is likely to be a very high risk of increased motorized traffic and speed that will in turn expose the local road users to more accidents.

Dialogue meeting to commemorate the day of the African child at Floral Hotel in Wakiso Town council.
The day is observed annually on 11 October to advocate for the full spectrum of girl’s rights.
The dialogue is organized by Save the Children.
