The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has held a District stakeholder consultative meeting for undertaking road safety audit and awareness campaign for Busega -Mpigi Express Highway.
The highway which covers 23.7 kilometers, traversing through Wakiso District and expected to be completed by 31st July 2024, is at a completion rate of 30% currently. UNRA contracted SMEC International Limited to undertake the consultancy services to help in the management of road safety awareness campaign al0ng the affected areas.
It’s anticipated that after the road is completed, there is likely to be a very high risk of increased motorized traffic and speed that will in turn expose the local road users to more accidents.

The day is observed annually on 11 October to advocate for the full spectrum of girl’s rights.
