Members of the Parliamentary committee on National Economy, today visited Wakiso District projects to be funded under the GKMA urban Development Program
Members of the Parliamentary committee on National Economy this morning visited Wakiso District projects to be funded under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area urban Development Program.
The team was led by the Minister of State for Kampala city and Metropolitan Affairs Hon. Kyofatogabye Kabuye and Hon. Robert Migadde Ndugwa.
The team inspected planned projects for Wakiso District which include; Kawuku market.They also visited a number of roads listed below, to be upgraded to bitumen standards. These include the following;
Kajjansi-Kitende-Bweya and Dewe link (14km), Seguku, Kasenge-Budo remedial overlay and drainage improvement works, Kisozi-Budo-Naggalabi spur (2km), Nsangi-Buloba (4.7km) and Buloba-sentema (8.3km) -
Wakiso District Council passes an annual budget Worth 99,351,860,215/= for financial year 2023/2024
The Council which was Chaired by Hon. Nassif Najja, the district speaker passed a budget with amendments, the resource envelope is worth 99,351,860,215/=

The CAO, Alfred Malinga inspecting Kajjansi Town Council Activities
The Chief Administrative Officer Wakiso Alfred Malinga, accompanied by the District Engineer Samuel Mwesigwa and Kajjansi Town Council Officials visited the scene of Kajjansi market in Kajjansi Town Council which was recently gutted by fire.
The CAO informed the affected market vendors that the District Engineer had been instructed to make an urgent assessment of the damage so that interventions can easily be made. He also pledged to find alternative space outside the market so that the vendors can temporarily operate as interventions are being made. He also revealed that a team of officials from the office of the Prime Minister was soon to be dispatched to assess the damage.Away From Kajjansi market, the team monitored the ongoing construction of a General ward at Kajjansi Health centre IV. The project which is funded under Primary Health care grant is constructed by Skylight Limited. Later that day, the CAO monitored the upgrading of Namulanda -Jjanyi-Bweya road to bitumen standards. This section covers 700 meters its works are undertaken by Newton Construction company Limited.

The CAO Alfred Malinga, starts monitoring LLG programs and projects in the District.
The Chief Administrative Officer Alfred Malinga yesterday started monitoring Lower Local Government government programs and projects in the District. He monitored projects in Kajjansi Town council on 23/02/2023.
He monitored road projects constructed using Uganda Road Fund these include; Kitende -Ssisa-Sekiwunga 1.2km,Ssisa -Lutaba 4.2km,Kajjansi headquarters buildings and proposed purchase of Land and St. Padre Pio Kabulamuliro primary school.
At St Padre Pio he commended the Rotary Club of Bwebajja for provision of 5000 litre water tank to the school.
