The District council session chaired by the speaker Hon. Nasif Najja is on going. The Council will today elect new committee chairpersons and also reconstitute sectoral committees as stipulated under rule 91(b) and standard rules of procedure 2019. The committees which have served for two and a half years were sworn in May 2021.

A hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida awareness drive has today been held through Wakiso Town. The Drive led by Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida Initiative was aimed at creating awareness and sensitizing the community about the disease and also provide remedies.

The Parliamentary committee on social services is visiting Wakiso District today to asses and evaluate activities of Government health facilities .The team is led by the Chairperson Social services Dr.Samuel Opio Acuti, Member of Parliament Kole North. This follows public out cry of lack of medicine in public health facilities, extortion of money and the scale and level of service delivery among others.
