Department’s Mandate
To manage and conserve natural resources for sustainable development (inferred from standard district mandates and environmental goals) which includes implementing policies, plans and programs as well as enforcing relevant laws and regulation.

- To promote sustainable socio-economic development through coordinated service delivery, aligning with national and local priorities.

- Manage forests, wetlands, and other natural resources.
- Enforce environmental regulations.
- Promote sustainable land use practices.
