The Chairperson LCIII Wakiso sub county Felix Semujju Mwanje has revealed that his council will soon pass a bye-law regulating garbage and solid waste disposal in the subcounty. Semujju said the major objective of the bye-law is to improve on sanitation and hygiene in homesteads and work places.
He was officiating at the cleaning exercise and hand washing campaign conducted by Amref Health Africa at Bulaga daily market.
The Amref Project Officer Paul Mulinde implored local leaders to always spearhead general cleaning in their areas of jurisdiction.
He said this will prevent the rampant epidemics like cholera, Ebola and COVID-19.

Wakiso District Chairman Dr. Matia Lwanga Bwanika has expressed concern over the ongoing unlawful arrests and embarrassment of civil servants especially Engineers with out making thorough investigations on matters of embezzlement of public funds.
The chairman was addressing stakeholders during the Roads Committee meeting held at the district headquarters on Thursday, 3rd November 2022.
He said such acts are demoralizing civil servants and frustrating the implementation of government developmental projects.
The Woman Member of Parliament Wakiso Betty Ethel Naluyima called upon Central Government to earmark special funds for the construction of the main roads in Wakiso District due to its unique status in the country.

Today the CAO visited Kira Municipality and he was impressed by the teamwork exhibited by both the technical staff and political leaders which has led to improved service delivery.
He implored staff to work with honesty and always put the interest of the Municipality at the forefront.
The Town Clerk Kira Municipality Iga Benon thanked the CAO for the visit and pledged to continuously network with the mother District.

Wakiso District Local Government has today, 14th August 2022 signed a memorandum of understanding with Wakiso Giants Football Club. The district will own 20% shares and as well as giving financial support to the Club annual financial budget.

The District Chairperson Dr. Matia Lwanga Bwanika signed on behalf of the District and endorsed by the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Alfred Byamukama while Lule Hassan the Chairman Wakiso Giants signed on behalf of the Wakiso Giants Club.

The District Chairman Bwanika now the Club Patron said that the MOU will help the District leadership to be involved in the football administration by working with the already established structures of the Club.

The District Sports Officer Senyonga Brain assured fans that Wakiso Giants FC will be a model club to the entire football fraternity representing the potential in the future youthful generation.

The Chief Administrative Officer has today visited Namayumba Town Council where he made an impromptu visit at Namayumba Health centre IV. He checked on the staff duty register and later held a meeting with Health workers.
He urged staff to take their duties seriously and always attend to duty since government has enhanced their salaries.
Earlier on the CAO inspected an Ongoing construction works of Namayumba Town Council Administration Headquarters. He appreciated the works so far done. Miika Munno Development group at the same event led by its Chairperson Kalyango Stephen, handed over 1.6m cash to the Mayor and Town Clerk towards the completion of the Administration block.
