Mandate

To provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services that add value and improve district operations, as stipulated by Section 90 of the Local Governments Act Cap 243.

Strategic Direction

Enhance accountability and operational efficiency through rigorous auditing of district programs and projects.

Core Functions

  • Conduct audits of health centers, schools, sub-counties, and district council departments.
  • Audit grants (e.g., Local Development Grant, Community-Based Grant, CDD).
  • Perform manpower audits, NAADS audits, special audits, and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with Financial and Accounting Regulations 2007 and the Local Government Audit Manual 2007. Key Services:
  • Financial and operational audits of district projects.
  • Special investigations into irregularities.
  • Manpower audits to ensure staffing efficiency.
  • Reporting on compliance and operational improvements.
