World Bank Mission Engages Wakiso District on GKMA-UDP Implementation Progress
The Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Program (GKMA-UDP), supported by the World Bank, today held a high-level engagement with Wakiso District leadership to assess progress and strengthen project implementation.
The discussions focused on critical areas including right-of-way acquisition, community engagement, quality assurance, and overall progress of ongoing works. The meeting was highly participatory, providing a platform for stakeholders to share experiences, challenges, and lessons aimed at improving project delivery.
The World Bank delegation, led by Task Team Leader Huyen Phan, commended the collaborative approach adopted by the district and emphasized the importance of sustained coordination among all stakeholders.
As part of the mission, the team conducted a field visit to the Namulanda–Bweya–Kajjansi Road to assess on-ground progress and ensure alignment with project standards and expectations.
The engagement underscores the continued commitment of both the World Bank and Wakiso District to delivering impactful infrastructure that supports urban development within the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area.
