STAKEHOLDER ENGAGIMENT MEETING ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF MPIGI-KASANJE-NAKAWUKA-NATEETE-KISUBI ROAD HELD AT WAKISO DISTRICT HQTRS.

The Minister for Works and Transport Major Katumba Wamala together with Officials from Uganda National Roads Authority, on the  12th of Jan 2024, held a meeting with Wakiso District leaders to brief them about the upcoming construction of Mpigi Kasanje-Nakawuka-Nateete-Kisubi road.
Katumba urged Wakiso residents to embrace the project saying it will change the entire Kampala metropolitan area by easing the motor transport sector.
He cautioned residents employed on the project to desist from vandalizing road equipment especially fuel which will frustrate the whole project.
The District Chairperson Dr. Matia Lwanga Bwanika called on local leaders to convince the landlords to willingly give their land for the development of the area. He cautioned the officers responsible for land compensation to be transparent to avoid court petitions in future.
The contractor undertaking the works is China Communications Construction Company.
