Four out of the five sectoral committee chairpersons have been re-elected to head the District council standing committees.
Vincent Mulindwa was elected for chairperson Works committee and Kakungulu Shakirah for the finance and planning committee committee both unopposed, while Faisal Nyanzi for Production, Natural Resources, Trade and Cooperatives committee with 57 votes against Namutebi Hadijah who got 26 votes. Others are Kalyoowa Nasifu for Health and Education committee with 71 votes beating Mwamula Juma getting only 16 votes and Kanamwangi Abasi worn the Gender and Social services committee with 66 votes against Annet Nakyanja with 18 votes.
The District council session chaired by the speaker Hon. Nasif Najja is on going.
The Council will today elect new committee chairpersons and also reconstitute sectoral committees as stipulated under rule 91(b) and standard rules of procedure 2019.
The committees which have served for two and a half years were sworn in May 2021.

A hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida awareness drive has today been held through Wakiso Town.
The Drive led by Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida Initiative was aimed at creating awareness and sensitizing the community about the disease and also provide remedies.

The Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development in Partnership with Child i Foundation has concluded a two days orientation meeting for the Wakiso District Child Well being committee. The training was aimed at equipping leaders with knowledge on child care and protection.
